But now let’s look at …
Do helmets need to be replaced after a certain time
even if they are not damaged?
Answer: When it comes to helmet safety, prevention is always better than cure. While helmets may not show visible damage, they can still degrade over time due to factors like wear and tear, exposure to sunlight, and normal aging of materials. Therefore, it is generally recommended to replace helmets after a certain period.
Generally speaking, is suggested by industry guidelines for general use a helmet be replaced after 5 years, from the date of purchase, and up to 7 years from the date of manufacturing what ever comes first. It is also suggested that if your helmet is used for more than general use, like sporting activities then the replacement of the helmet should be replaced more frequently, for example, every 3 years, even if they appear undamaged.
By being proactive in replacing your helmet at the appropriate intervals, you ensure that you are consistently protected with the latest advancements in safety technology. Whilst during these interval periods we at The Helmet Doctors, with our state-of-the-art laser scanning technology, can identify even the slightest defects that may compromise the effectiveness of your helmet.
When it comes to ensuring the highest level of safety, The Helmet Doctors are at the cutting edge of laser technology. Our advanced laser scanning technology allows us to detect helmet defects with a precision that is 100,000 times better than the naked eye (that’s 10x better than our competitor), this allows us to see the invisible defects that have compromised your helmet’s integrity & ability to work effectively when it’s next needed.
We say, ”It’s a No Brainer” to prioritize your safety, and simply having your helmet laser scanned at The Helmet Doctors provides you with optimal protection, we also say replacing your helmet when knowing your helmet has become compromised is a “No Brainer”.
